The Puppy Path Founder
Kristin has lived and worked with dogs for most of her life. In her twenties when she was living in NYC, she found a homeless puppy eating out of a dumpster. She took him home and Ruhfus became her first dog of her own. She quickly realized how little she knew about raising and caring for a dog, and was surprised how hard it was to find information about the best way to train him, feed him and make his life as toxin-free as possible. Over the next 20 years, owning many more dogs, she learned from some of the best holistic vets, top trainers and studied the best ways to care for dogs naturally, train dogs (even becoming a dog trainer for TV and commercials), and keep dogs healthy.
Over the years Kristin has worked with and studied animals in different capacities including creating a charity that helped rescue elephants in Thailand, and studying Animal Conservation at Columbia University CERC Graduate School with a fellowship, and earning certification in dog nutrition.
She founded The Natural Puppy Path because she knows firsthand how overwhelming it can be to raise a puppy, and keep your dog healthy in a world full of dog food companies making false claims, toxic toys, and overuse of medications. She is passionate about sharing what she has learned over the years and hopes this site will help dog owners overcome puppy overwhelm and find natural solutions that help their dogs live a long happy and healthy life.
